New solutions expand media versatility, enable publishers to profitably increase mono inkjet book production

DALLAS, May 19, 2014 — HP today announced the HP Priming Solution, enabling HP Inkjet Web Press users to print on a broader range of media, including standard offset coated media that is not typically compatible with production inkjet technology.

Coatings used in offset papers are designed to repel water, including water-based inks used in high-speed production inkjet environments. This results in print-quality defects such as coalescence and issues with drying the ink at production speeds. The new HP Priming Solution addresses this challenge, allowing print service providers (PSPs) and book manufacturers to print on low-cost, coated offset stock without compromising print quality or productivity.

TC Transcontinental Printing Accelerates Speed to Market with HP T400 Inkjet Web Press

PALO ALTO, Calif. — HP today announced that TC Transcontinental Printing, the largest printer in Canada, has installed the world’s first HP T400 Color Inkjet Web Press integrated with an Epic WebCoat 400.(1)

This new solution, set up in the printer’s Aurora, Ontario, location, helps TC Transcontinental Printing simplify its workflow, reduce delivery time and grow its direct marketing services.

TC Transcontinental Printing produces a range of print applications, including personalized direct mail pieces, marketing solicitation letters, loyalty coupons for grocery retailers and other promotional self-mailers. Volumes, order sizes and variable-data content have made conventional printing technologies increasingly less efficient to use.

Epic’s CTi-635 an Integral Component of the Xerox Automated Digital Packaging Line

Midwest Printer Installs 2nd Epic Coater

Epic recently installed a second CT-600 Off-line UV coater at a midwest print house. Six months after the installation of their first CT-660, demands for coated print had greatly risen and a second coater was warranted. The customer’s decision to choose Epic was an easy one. They were pleased with the “offset-like” lay down of the Epic coater, the level of automation, and the ease of operation.
